I Feel Great! My Neurologist Calls Me His "Miracle Patient"!

HI! I am so glad you found my site and want to read my story!

I had a confirmed diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis nine years ago. Of couse, it hit during the time of my life that was the most complicated, stressful and the busiest!

I had just gotten a divorce, was working 2 jobs and had three children to raise, alone! Even though the confirmation of MS was made 14 years ago, my doctor could pretty much assume (from my medical records) that it started affecting me in my early 20's! That was over 20 years ago!

In 1990 I was forced to quit my jobs and go on disability. The MS had taken over to the point that I could no longer function at the fast-paced, busy, super-working-mom, that I had been used to. I was too tired, to weak and yes, too crippled! I was at the point where I couldn't even put in my own pierced earrings. Talk about feeling worthless!

Well....I let the "Poor Nancy Syndrome", (that could be considered PNS, not to be confused with PMS!) last for a couple of years, until one day I remembered what it was once like when I actually could say I "HAVE A LIFE."! I wanted to have a life once again and decided it was up to me to find what I could do to have one! I knew I had to do something to help myself, since medicine was of little help for MS at that time.

It took a lot of time and research, but both the time and research were worth my life...and I mean that literally! I learned that one key issue in disease today, is NUTRITION. After much research, via internet, magazines, television, and the public library, I learned that without the proper vitamins and minerals in our diets, there is no way our bodies can be expected to perform at their full potential!

"The simple facts are that cells cannot function without enzymes, and many enzymes cannot function without minerals. It is for that reason that minerals are often called the metabolic spark plug of life. Minerals from the soil control the metabloism of cells in plants, in animals, and in man. Diseases are created chiefly by destroying the harmony reigning among mineral substances present in infinitesimal amounts in air, water, and food...but most importantly, in the soil."

Just think about how erosion and today's farming methods have made mineral-rich soil a less-common commodity. The result is not only mineral-deficient plants and livestock, but also mineral-deficient people! The deficiency is further compounded by the way food is processed, which can also lead to mineral loss, making mineral supplementation a vital part of many people's daily health plans! CERTAINLY IN MINE!!

Today I have a regular plan that has been designed for what I feel my needs and deficiencies are in my diet. I can remember the day when I thought vitamins were the silliest thing that one could spend money on, but now I would go without most anything (yes -- even the cigarettes that I am so dependant on)...if I had to give up my daily vitamins and minerals!

My neurologist (Dr. Lawrence Jacobs) calls me his "miracle patient". I have gone from a 6 on his MS rating scale to a 1! He told me on my last visit that if I did not have the scars behind my eye, left from optic neuritis, he could honestly say I would be totally symptom-free of MS! How's that for a report!!

Today, unless told, a person would never know I have MS. Dr. Jacobs says that he cannot attribute this totally to the vitamins and minerals that I take, but neither can he dispute the fact. He suggested that whatever I am doing is certainly working, so not to stop one thing! And believe me.....I WON'T! I have been blind and I have been crippled, neither of which show now...and I will continue to do what I am doing for my health to see to it that it doesn't happen again!

I will be more than happy to talk with you about your MS, my MS, the vitamins I take. Just contact me by e-mail, or phone. I will always have time to talk with you and/or write to you, and answer your questions! Please join me in feeling better!

!!I am never too busy to talk to you!!
